METROTOM Calibrations

METROTOM 1500 (M1500) were the original model when ZEISS began using CT (Computed Tomography) (aka: X-Ray). Then came the M800 and M800 225KV. The M1500 and M800 225KV have the same X-Ray source (with 225 Kilovolts of electricity possible) while the M800 has a smaller one. The 225KV X-Ray sources are expensive and can fail if not properly maintained...

METROTOM Rotary Table

All METROTOM models use a rotary table to index the customer's part between X-Rays ("Scans".  However, when quoting the calibration services we do not add a rotary table calibration part number. When a bridge style CMM (ie: Prismo, Accura, Duramax) includes a Rotary Table (ie: RT-01, RT-AB), that device becomes what we call a “4th axis” in addition ...

Spare Parts

Often times customers request items other than styli or accessories, such as a new probe head, filters, additional cables, or other hardware related parts for their CMM. Most times this will be routed through CIC under a ticket for parts look-up to verify the PN. If they request the part and would like ZEISS to install it, this would go to Service f...

Wider Accuracy Tolerances

Sometimes a customer does not need their CMM to be quite as accurate as the ZEISS guarantee is for that specific CMM Model.  For example, they may have a DURAMAX which has a 2.5 micron volumetric accuracy.  It might have issues and fail its calibration.  The customer may then ask us to apply a more liberal tolerance like 10 microns.  In that case, t...
