All METROTOM models use a rotary table to index the customer's part between X-Rays ("Scans". However, when quoting the calibration services we do not add a rotary table calibration part number.
When a bridge style CMM (ie: Prismo, Accura, Duramax) includes a Rotary Table (ie: RT-01, RT-AB), that device becomes what we call a “4th axis” in addition to X, Y, and Z. The RT is “qualified” by the CMM user to assure it is giving exact rotational information and our Service Technicians actually calibrate the RT with a special process. This takes our Technician more time and requires special skills which is why we add the Rotary Table calibration part number for bridge style CMMs.
Rotary Table are also optional “4th Axes" for O-Inspect. We do add a RT Calibration P/N for O-Inspect having an RT.
The RT is simply an integral component of all METROTOMS so all of our Technicians certainly have the skills to perform whatever service is necessary. There is no option to calibrate a METROTOM without the RT and the single METROTOM calibration prices factor in all work required so no need to add an RT calibration part number for METROTOMs.
The newer M1 and M6 Scout also do not require a separate RT calibration part number.
