Calibration Factors & Benefits

Factors that contribute to determining the level of calibration required and calibration frequency:          (Not in order and not all factors but some). When talking with a customer, these are important considerations

  • Audit Requirements (Such as FAA or FDA)
  • Supplier Requirements (ie. Boeing NADCAP Requirement)
  • # Shifts Machine is used 
  • Environmental Conditions (Temperature Fluctuation, clean room? Humidity Control?)
  • Skill of Operator
  • Probe Crashes
  • Tolerance Requirements 
  • Preventative Maintenance – How are they currently caring for their machine?

Below are some of the reasons for using Zeiss for Calibration…this is a bit wordy, but can be used when competing against a third party etc….. 

  • Service technicians are factory trained and certified to perform the required calibrations. 
  • Training class is outlined by the experts that designed and engineered the equipment.
  • Technicians must take a competency test prior to finishing the class.
  • Each technician carries specialized tooling to get the job done right. All gages are traceable to NIST. 
  • Zeiss is A2LA certified to perform ISO 17025 calibrations.
  • A2LA is the accrediting body that guarantees that our technicians are trained qualified to perform the 
  • Zeiss’s A2LA Procedures far exceeds the standards laid out by ISO 17025
  • We are the OEM. 
  • Being the OEM, we have access to proprietary software that allows us to properly tune and adjust the CMMs to ensure the highest optimization of the CMM systems
  • We have access to technical information should problems arise
  • We have the necessary access to software to adjust our customers CAA (geometric Accuracy) files without compromising the integrity of the file. Thus guaranteeing what the customers measure is true data necessary to deliver quality
  • Zeiss has published levels of service which help you obtain the best level of work, in terms of quality, cost and equipment optimization.
  • We understand the equipment, the applications and have a deep depth of technical resources to address any concerns.
