October 2025 Update:

Reaching out to Dan Perish Dan.Perish@zeiss.com directly with the pictures of the back PC ports is a good way to get the necessary capture card part numbers.

A customer is not required to purchase the Acronis backup license if they do not want it.

If the special NIC and RS232 cards are determined to be needed, they are required-- customer cannot use the cards from their old PC. This is to ensure driver compatibility with Windows 11 as well as the correct connectors to the motherboard. This also reduces the chance that additional support will be needed to troubleshoot a customer's new workstation when setting up, as the Zeiss prebuilt workstations are made to be as plug-and-play as possible with no questionable components.

O-Inspect computer replacements usually need an NSP “Non Standard Product” submission. This is due to the fact that special computer boards can be required in addition to the standard computer configuration.

To assure all relevant information is gathered up front, we typically ask the customer to take a photo of the “ports” on the back of their existing computer and submit this with the NSP. However, it seems we have successfully bypassed the NSP process with support from Software Licensing (Tim Barrett, specifically).  Tim has kindly assisted several AMS members with determining what part numbers are needed to add to the standard computer.

This may be the same for LineScan, ViScan, DotScan but this needs to be confirmed with Software Licensing and this article to be updated.
