AMS Reference: SMA Loyalty & Multi-License Discounts

Purpose

Use this guide when quoting SMA renewals where the customer may qualify for loyalty and/or multi-license discounts. The goal is to keep SMA discounting consistent across eligible software products and make quoting easier for the AMS team.

Loyalty Discount

Apply the loyalty discount based on the customer’s SMA renewal history.

Current loyalty structure:

• 10% on 1st SMA renewal
• 20% on 2nd SMA renewal
• 30% on 3rd SMA renewal and beyond

For multi-year SMA terms, apply the eligible loyalty discount across the full quoted SMA term.

Multi-License Discount

Customers qualify for a multi-license discount when they have at least 3 qualifying base licenses.

Base License Softwares Include:

• CALIGO
• CALYPSO
  • CNC
  • Manual
  • Offline/Planner
• INSPECT
  • 3D Optical
  • XRAY
  • CMM/VMM

Current multi-license structure:

• Minimum qualification: 3 qualifying base licenses
• Discount: 1% per qualifying base license
• Maximum multi-license discount: 20%

Do not apply the multi-license discount if the customer has fewer than 3 qualifying base licenses.

License/Renewal must be on the same quote.

Lapse Fee 

Lapse fees for breaks in SMA coverage dates will no longer be applied to SMA renewals for any ZEISS Metrology Software as of effective date above. Customers are incentivized to remain under constant SMA coverage with loyalty discount structure.

SMA Term Options

Customers may purchase SMA for a 1-, 2-, or 3-year term.  3 year MAX

• ZEISS Care is not required.
• Calibration purchase is not required.
• Loyalty discount may apply.
• Multi-license discount may apply.
• The full SMA term invoices immediately under standard terms.
• SMA contract is created for entire term. No individual 1-year contracts

What To Check Before Quoting

Before applying discounts, confirm:

• Is this an SMA renewal?
• Which loyalty year applies?
• Does the customer have at least 3 qualifying base licenses?
• How many qualifying base licenses should count toward the discount?
• Is the requested term 1, 2, or 3 years?
• Are any products or licenses excluded from standard discount handling?

Do Not

• Do not apply multi-license discount with fewer than 3 qualifying base licenses.
• Do not exceed the 20% multi-license discount cap.
• Do not require ZEISS Care to apply SMA loyalty or multi-license discounts.
• Do not require calibration purchase to apply SMA loyalty or multi-license discounts.
• Do not apply discounts to non-qualifying licenses or products without approval.

Customer Verbiage

Your SMA renewal may qualify for loyalty and multi-license discounts. Loyalty discounts are based on renewal history, and multi-license discounts are based on the number of qualifying base licenses. Multi-year SMA terms are available without requiring calibration or ZEISS Care.
