From Kevin in May 2024:

ZiX Pro Line:

  • The M1, M6 and Titan are available with the ZiX Pro Line software.  The word “line” is used to indicate that the software is used to drive the CT (like MOS does).
  • There are no optional modules like we have with MOS (VHD, Separation, AMMAR).   This functionality is embedded in the “line” software.
  • You might notice a separate part number associated with the Pro Line software.  This is the “driver” software – a required communication tool.
  • Each CT machine that is available with ZiX Pro Line has a unique driver part number. (M1, M6, Titan)
  • Sometime in 2024 we can expect that drivers will be released for the M1500 and M800.
  • This one package with one GUI can do everything that in the past we relied on MOS + Calypso + VG to do .
    • Drive the scanner to create CT data. (like MOS)
    • Blueprint analysis with GD&T – (like Calypso)
    • Porosity Analysis (like VG)
    • Wall Thickness Analysis (like VG)
    • Assembly Analysis (like VG)
    • Basic reporting (like PiWEb) but with full GR&R capability

ZiX Pro:

  • In contrast we also offer ZiX Pro.
  • Exactly the same software as above except but without the drivers and without the ability to communicate with the CT scanner
  • This version is for offline data analysis. (all the green items above)
  • If an owner of a M6, M1 or Titan needed additional data processing seats you could sell them ZiX Pro.   Each seat would be installed on a unique offline computer.
  • Similarly, a M800 or M1500 customer with MOS could buy ZiX Pro for data analysis

Powerful:   In terms of data analysis, ZiX is super powerful and very similar across our platforms (optical and xray).  If I was a betting guy we might also see “Zeiss Inspect – CMM” down the road.

  • The Zeiss Inspect capabilities for optical machines (Scanbox) is almost identical to xray
  • The differences are due to system needs.
    • Example:  On the xray side we need porosity analysis whereas on the optical side they do not.
    • This means that someone that knows Zeiss Inspect for a Scanbox already knows 75% of Zeiss Inspect for X-Ray.
  • Similarities are impressive (especially compared to al-a-cart software like Calypso).
    • All Native CAD import formats are included (STEP, IGES, SAT, CATIA, PMI etc.).
    • The integrated reporting engine includes GR&R study formats.
    • What we call Curve in Calypso is included
    • The equivalent of basic piweb is included in the reporting engine.  That said the reporting engine in Zeiss Inspect is thoroughly impressive.
  • There are a few options for data analysis:
    • ZADD (Zeiss automatic defect detection).  Very new and fir specialized applications – this uses machine learning.
    • Airfoil
    • PiWeb Enterprise (apparently PiWeb is setup to automatically import data from ZiX)
