Customers may inquire about STL import.  STL is a CAD format originally for “stereolithography”.  It is not a solid CAD model like we get from STEP, IGES, CATIA, CREO, etc…  Instead it is a rough approximation constructed of triangles when you zoom in…

It can be useful for certain optical or CT applications, often for reverse engineering a part.

There is no STL import to CALYPSO option to sell (no P/N).  It is standard functionality of either CALYPSO CNC or CALYPSO MANUAL (not PLANNER). The user merely needs to create a new Machine Tab in CALYPSO with the machine type ‘STL’
