Using the underscore ( _ ) character in the beginning of the Saved Search name, you can engineer the sort order to put your most commonly used Saved Searches at the top.

You can delete a Saved Search by selecting it from the drop-down in the upper right of the screen, and then click on the trashcan.  Once deleted, gone forever, cannot be recovered.
