02/14/2025 UPDATE: The COMET 6 goes on EOS 12/31/2025.  This will end the COMET product service.  The 3D Optical PSMs are actively contacting all customers trying to replace with ATOS or T-Scan products.

UPDATE 10/19/2023: We (ZEISS) want to replace as many COMET as possible with GOM solutions.  Miles Molnar manages our Hands On Metrology (HOM) sales channel which works through resellers.  Miles has created a Trade In program where COMET customers can receive a discount off of a new GOM solution by trading in their COMET.  Miles welcomes Aftermarket spreading the word to COMET customers and also sending him an email as a lead. Although there are a few product models which Miles' reseller team sells, the ATOS is a comparable COMET replacement. The T-Scan Hawk 2 is also very popular.

Confirmed Jan 2025: We can still perform Calibration Panel Checks on COMET but not COMET 6 (which have to go to Germany).

Best to not quote Colin 3D SMA, System Check or Extended Warranty any longer.

ZEISS COMET Calibration Panel Check 

§ Complete verification of up to (3) calibration panels performed at ZEISS factory in Maple Grove, MN. 

§ Traceability certificate and updated calibration files issued upon completion. 

§ Panels will be returned via FedEx Overnight; shipping charges not included. 

§ Repair work, if required, is evaluated at ZEISS and quoted separately.
