Entry Workstation - not currently offered as of 2026
Performance Workstation - Suitable for most customers.
Ultimate Workstation - For customers manipulating CT data or operating a Metrotom.
REKO/RECO computer - a secondary “reconstruction” computer that houses Metrotom OS software and operates Metrotoms. Does not run the Calypso programming software itself. (Always connect with the Aftermarket Sales Manager (Jeff Penrod) if you are asked to quote a Metrotom OS update or a replacement or backup REKO (reconstruction) computer. Aftermarket will be able to quote these items but there is not a standard process for it in our current CRM and SAP systems. Each quote will need to be customized on a case by case basis. In the case of the REKO computers, these come direct from Germany and need to be installed by a service technician.)
Example question from a customer about PC types:
“On the quote spec of the PC’s that were quoted, it says that the Zeiss Windows 11 Performance Workstation is suitable for mid-range measuring applications. Could you please let me know what tolerances are considered mid-range.”
Tolerances are irrelevant. Workstation level is more relevant to CAD model complexity. CAD models over 500mb with extremely complex surfaces will sometimes have difficultly loading. When getting into models over that size, it sometimes takes an "Ultimate" to open the model and convert it to the native format for CALYPSO to use.
An application engineer or aftermarket rep may ask the customer the size of the customer's CAD files and how many points on average they are scanning when measuring features, as the CAD model is the only thing to be concerned about when deciding on the computer. However, this point count is usually negligible unless the customer is utilizing CT/Xray features.
99% of customers can use the Performance Workstation without issue.
