When switching to a different version of CALYPSO, it is good to make sure whether that version is supported with the current operating system on your PC. Detailed information can be found in the release notes for that version, which can be found in the DOWNLOAD CENTER on the ZEISS PORTAL. Details on how to locate this info is presented lower in this article.  The table below contains a quick reference to check which versions of CALYPSO are supported with different versions of Windows.  A more detailed breakdown is available in the release notes for each CALYPSO version for specific OS versions and  specific “builds”(LTSC/LTSB/Pro etc) that are officially supported.

If a version of CALYPSO is not supported with your version of Windows, this does not necessarily mean it won't function. To be supported means the software has undergone rigorous testing with that OS, and any bugs or issues found can be addressed by ZEISS' Software Support team. To be unsupported means ZEISS cannot guarantee optimal performance on that OS, and if issues arise, the solution recommended will be to upgrade/downgrade to an appropriate OS for that CALYPSO version in order to further diagnose and provide support.

There is also a limit to which ZEISS can provide support to earlier software versions. This does not mean the user cannot receive help from the Support team, but any enhancement requests, errors, software bugs or feature issues will no longer be addressed by the Development team once that version is discontinued.

The full list of discontinuation dates for all ZEISS hardware and software can be found on ZEISS.com here: https://www.zeiss.com/metrology/services/system-support/product-discontinuation.html
