As of 10/10/2024, we are OKAY to ship new Performance PCS and Large Laptops with WIN 11. (currently unable to offer Entry level PCs due to supplier issue. Metrotom REKO are still WIN 10 only.)
There is no change to the PC or laptop part numbers, however, You MUST include an internal note on the quotation to Software Licensing stating that a WIN 11 PC is to be provided.
WIN 11 requires CALYPSO 2024 or 2023. There is a CALYPSO 2023 service pack available that is required in order to support WIN 11.
All new Zeiss supplied WIN 10 PCs do have TPM* chips. If a customer wants to install 11 on their own, they will have to enable TPM in the BIOS first. PLEASE also be aware, if a customer wants to update their current license of Windows 10 to Windows 11, they cannot simply renew the Windows 10 LTSC version of the license they have received from Zeiss. They will need to actually request a fresh new license directly from Microsoft or the update will not work. Please confirm details with Software Licensing if necessary.
* “Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is an international standard for a secure cryptoprocessor, a dedicated microcontroller designed to secure hardware through integrated cryptographic keys. One of Windows 11's operating system requirements is TPM 2.0 implementation. Microsoft has stated that this is to help increase security against firmware attacks.”

What this means is that not every customer supplied computer or older Zeiss supplied computer can be upgraded by the customer from Win 10 to Win 11. Customer may need to purchase a new computer with TPM enabled to run WIN 11, which is a sales opportunity for Aftermarket.
