When the service technicians perform a calibration, there are some things about the machine configuration that gets recorded on page 2 of the calibration certificate:
DANGER - Sometimes the calibration program cannot be run on the customer's Calypso computer, so the service technician may use their personal laptop running current Calypso software for the calibration. Then the software version on the service technician's laptop is what gets recorded in the calibration cert. If you read the Service Report attached in the Service Confirmation, the service technician's notes will usually say when the service technician calibrated from his laptop instead of the customer's Calypso computer.
Controller type (C99L or C99N), primary probe head used for the calibration, Calypso version the customer was actually running that was used for the calibration, and the reference sphere serial number. On rare occasion the service tech might even list the firmware.
This info is often listed in other places in CRM, but sometimes it is missing and the calibration certificate can be an alternate resource.
For example, Martina was doing a LiveChat with a customer needing help to determine which adapter plate he needed for his O-INSPECT. He knew he had a VAST XXT, but he didn’t know if it was a TL1, TL2, or TL3. She looked in all the regular places, like IBase sensor level and service data viewer, but it was not listed. We tried looking up the original machine order, and the original quote, but we didn’t have the authorization to view a Germany sales order. As a last resort we looked up the last calibration certificate, and there it was, a VAST XXT (TL3).
The calibration certificates can be located in the IBase 2nd level, in the Attachments assignment block. Or sometimes they can be located in the IBase 1st level, in the Attachments assignment block. Check both places to find the files for the most recent year of calibration.
Service techs make up their own file names. Some examples:
