Relocation Process Frequently Asked Questions

1) What happens during the relocation?

Tech does an As Found / CMM Check

Braces the machine

Guides Riggers for the movement of the machine.

Installs the machine

Performs a Complete or Accred Complete Calibration

A combination of the above dependent on the customer’s request.

2) Who is responsible for the different stages of Relocation?

CIC – Ticket Creation

Tech Support – Quoting

Deployment – Scheduling, and Ordering Materials, Reporting

Requests for tickets should be sent to the CIC and not Deployment

3 )What information is needed for quoting a Relocation?

We utilize a Relocation Site Readiness form to gather the required information before the service is quoted. Because no 2 relocations are alike.

4) Can the customer use an existing calibration on a relocation?

No, this is because calibrations include discounts and are billed as quoted. Relocations cannot include any discounts and are invoiced as Time and Materials

5) The customer has ZEISS Care; do they lose that when they have a Relocation?

No, Their ZEISS Care remains in effect if they purchase an SMA.

6) What happens to the calibration that the customer already has scheduled?

The calibration can either be moved to next year or they can cancel that PO and we will cancel the work order.

7) What happens if a customer moves their machine without the assistance of ZEISS?

All warranties including D&B become null and void.

The machine could get damaged to the point of not being able to repair.

Customer assumes all responsibility for any possible damage.

8) The customer has moved their machine without ZEISS and are now asking for calibration after the move.

The customer should be getting a reinstallation quote for the machine. A ticket request should be sent to the CIC via phone call or email. This can be done by Aftermarket or the customer.

If a calibration is purchased through AMS and the Tech arrives onsite to do a calibration and finds the machine needs to be Installed.

In the event we can make it happen the service will be invoiced as Time and Materials and additional charges may apply.

The calibration may need to be rescheduled so as not impact other scheduled customers.

We cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the machine into spec. if damaged.

9) Can a date be held without a PO?

No, just like calibrations we must have a PO in hand before we can schedule the service.

10) What is the cost to move a machine?

The service cost ranges from $3,500 to $34,620 depending on the service type and the machine type.

Required materials are additional and are purchased only

Skid and/or Bracing are required for all machine moves

If the customer has the materials, they will need to send in photos of them during the quoting process.

11) How is the cost of service calculated?

We use package pricing for the quotes, and we invoice for actuals

 12) What happens if the site is not ready when the Technician arrives?

There is a $2,500 charge for a site not being ready, a quote will be sent to the customer, and they will be required to send in a PO to cover the additional cost.

13) How do you tell if a Relocation has been completed?

If you click on the pen and paper next to the umbrella and scroll down to the assignment you can see the scheduled date and Technician.

To see the move details, you can look in the second subject.
