Faulty Dongle Replacement Process for Quoting & Ordering

Step 0: 
Quote the customer using a 000000-1978-431 Software BOM part number for the serial number, and 000000-1483-375 for the dongle part number.  Use the template AMS: PC: DONGLE: REPLACE FAULTY DONGLE which applies a .pdf with the following.

Step 1: 
Place your Purchase Order or Credit Card Order for a new USB Dongle Security Key:

  • Please state on your Purchase Order your preferred method of shipment (Overnight, 2nd Day, Ground), preferred carrier (Fedex or UPS), and your carrier account number or if we should prepay & add the freight to your invoice.
  • If you can purchase on a company credit card, that would likely be a faster way to get the order started sooner.

Step 2:
Return the original USB Dongle Security Key to ZEISS:

  • First ZEISS will email to you a Return Authorization document. DO NOT ship the dongle back to ZEISS without having a Return Authorization number.
  • Please ship the dongle via best overnight airfreight at your expense for quickest delivery to ZEISS.
  • Please email the freight carrier & tracking number information to your Aftermarket Sales Representative.  (Aftermarket should share that tracking info with Customer Care.)
  • Your package must be marked Attn: Software License, RA# xxxxxxx to ensure delivery to the correct receiving party at ZEISS.
  • Please put a copy of this Return Authorization document in the box or envelope, so the receiving party understands the reason for your shipment.

Step 3: 
ZEISS will ship the new USB Dongle Security Key to you:

  • Upon receipt of the original USB Dongle Security Key, the sales order for the replacement will be processed.
